“Speechless” by Zupe & Nichols (Jazz Artist from Pennsylvania(PA))

"Speechless" by Zupe & Nichols is a superb blend of jazz, rock, and blues-infused instrumental tracks. The musicianship on this album is energetic and highly accomplished. In fact, both the guitar work and the keyboard work are clearly the products of virtuosos. The rest of the band is top-notch as well, and come together to provide a very tight sound and effective groove on these complex arrangements. "Captain & Coke" is one track that hovers very high, starting off with a reggae vibe and quickly transitioning into a heavy blues sound. The electric guitar solos and piano runs on this song are phenomenal. Moreover, the title-track also stands out due to its free-flow, ever-changing nature. Listeners will not be disappointed by this collection; it is composed and performed with aptitude that many strive for. Even more enticing is its deliberate and top-quality production.

Laura is able to hold her head up high around her counterparts in pop music culture, as she could likely stir waves in the market. Her spiritual demeanor reflects a brilliant holy connection. This will definitely be a souvenir EP, a real collector's item.

In addition to the excellent songwriting, the musicianship and production of this CD are totally professional - making for a tremendous musical journey. "Gray October Rain" is an exemplary track that shows off not only tremendous visual and meaningful songwriting, but the exceptional musicianship on this CD, with a strikingly beautiful female lead vocal. If you're a fan of country music, or a musician interested in honing your songwriting skills, you have got to add this CD to your collection!

The self-titled CD from the band Giddyup has all the makings of the perfect Western Swing CD. One swinging tune right after another, sure to please the dancehall crowds. Brothers Michael and Tim, from a family with 13 children, sure know how the West was won! Extremely fantastic instrumentally, plus a whole lot of story-telling songs to inspire and touch your hearts. Wow, hard to pick a favorite, as they all are really good. "No Horse Town" and the title cut 'Giddyup" are two that harken listeners back to simpler times, and thus are deemed as favorite cuts. Again, this entire CD is a winner!

"One Band Man" is filled with lyrics, licks, and lessons of life that reflect the abounding talents of Geoffrey Welchman. In keeping with historical trend-makers, Welchman shows us the path of bluesy, contemporary music, as he echoes past, present and future sentiment in this well-put together package. The musicianship on the CD is impressive, especially considering that Geoffrey performed all of the instruments himself. The production is very clean with some interesting effects. The highlight of the CD, however, is the songwriting, which combines interesting and sometimes unpredictable chord progressions with clever and well thought-out lyrics. One of our favorite tracks, "Unforgiven" is an adult rock track filled with raw emotion that blends electric guitar licks with beautiful self-harmonies. "Fender Bender" begins with some interesting effects that fade into a catchy bass line that provides a very cool groove for this track. This CD is well worth a listen to hear some of the creative songwriting and impressive musicianship of one talented person!

"Up North" stands out for just this reason; its graceful acoustic intro quickly becomes etched into one's memory. Moreover, the vocals on this album are refreshingly unique, adequately raw, and compellingly emotional. Lyrically, The Men They Couldn't Shave brings a nice mix to the table – a little bit of wit, a lot of relevance, and a nice dose of introspection. Other standout tracks include "The Ballad of Old Henri P.," "Ghost Dance Shirt," and the hilarious "A Tough Man Left Town." All in all, "Stories from Cactus Motel" is fun, highly relatable, and musically outstanding.
